Salvation is by __________ only.

The truth about salvation:  Righteousness by faith is an experience, not just a theory.

“Almost Christians, yet not fully Christians, they seem near the kingdom of heaven, but they cannot enter there. Almost but not wholly saved, means to be not almost but wholly lost.”  Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 118.

Can you be saved if you are a 99% Christian?
See Revelation 3:16, 17.

What causes lukewarmness?  What are the consequences of remaining in a lukewarm condition?

  1. Surrender our lives to Jesus

Give Him 100% of your heart.
Luke 18:22; Matthew 13:46.

Why is it so difficult to surrender to the Lord?

“Every soul that refuses to give himself to God is under the control of another power. He is not his own. He may talk of freedom, but he is in the most abject slavery.”  Desire of Ages, p. 466.

We are controlled by God or Satan. The only control we have is to choose who will control us.

Conversion is the work of the Holy Spirit, which produces a change of attitude toward God. We need to submit to His working daily.

“But no man can empty himself of self. We can only consent for Christ to accomplish the work. Then the language of the soul will be, Lord, take my heart; for I cannot give it. It is Thy property. Keep it pure, for I cannot keep it for Thee. Save me in spite of myself, my weak, unchristlike self. Mold me, fashion me, raise me into a pure and holy atmosphere, where the rich current of Thy love can flow through my soul.

“It is not only at the beginning of the Christian life that this renunciation of self is to be made. At every advance step heavenward it is to be renewed. All our good works are dependent on a power outside of ourselves. Therefore there needs to be a continual reaching out of the heart after God, a continual, earnest, heartbreaking confession of sin and humbling of the soul before Him. Only by constant renunciation of self and dependence on Christ can we walk safely.” Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 159, 160.

We do not change our lives in order to come to Christ. We come to Him just as we are, and He changes our lives.

  1. We need to know Jesus

1 John 5:11, 12.

We need a saving relationship with Jesus. As long as we have Jesus, we have life. We are100% saved.

How can we have a relationship with Jesus?

  1. Take time–quality time and quantity time;
  2. Alone–one-to-one communication;
  3. At the beginning of the day–give God top priority;
  4. Through His Word and through prayer–talk and listen;

If we don’t take time for the Bible and prayer we will die spiritually.
The primary purpose of prayer is not to get answers but to know Jesus.
The primary purpose of Bible study is not to get information but to know Jesus.

Knowing God results in trusting God.  If we don’t know Him, we won’t trust Him. If we don’t trust Him, we don’t know Him.

“When we know God as it is our privilege to know Him, our life will be a life of continual obedience.” The Desire of Ages, p .668.

Let’s be 100% saved by the grace of Jesus Christ!  Don’t put it off!
